(Type B Assisted Living Facility – Texas)

1. Hours of Operation

Facility Operations

White and Green Group Assisted Living Facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays. Trained staff are on duty at all times to provide supervision, personal care, assistance with activities of daily living, and emergency response in compliance with Texas Administrative Code (TAC) Title 26, Part 1, Chapter 553 for Type B Assisted Living Facilities.

Residents are never left unattended, and staffing levels meet or exceed state requirements to ensure resident safety at all times.

2. Administrative Office Hours

Administrative and business operations are conducted during the following hours:

  • Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Saturday – Sunday: By appointment only

  • Holidays: Limited administrative services

During administrative hours, the following services are available:

  • Admissions and tours

  • Billing and financial inquiries

  • Care plan coordination

  • Family meetings

  • Records and documentation requests

  • Outside of administrative hours, on-duty caregiving staff and an on-call administrator or manager are available to address urgent needs.

All calls are answered or returned promptly. After normal business hours, calls are routed to on-duty staff or the on-call administrator.

4. 24-Hour Emergency Admission Policy

(Type B Facility – Immediate Placement Capability)

White and Green Group Assisted Living Facility accepts emergency admissions 24 hours a day, subject to bed availability and completion of minimum required screening.

Emergency admission is intended for individuals who:

Require immediate assisted living placement

Are being urgently discharged from a hospital, rehabilitation center, or skilled nursing facility

Can no longer be safely cared for at home due to physical or cognitive decline

Require Type B level care, including assistance with mobility, transfers, or evacuation.

5. Emergency Admission Procedure

The following steps are followed for all emergency admissions:

  1. Initial Contact

Family member, hospital, social worker, or responsible party contacts the facility by phone at any time.

  2. Preliminary Screening

On-duty staff or administrator conducts a brief health, mobility, and safety screening to confirm suitability for Type B assisted living.

  3. Verification of Minimum Requirements

  • Basic identification

  • Emergency contact information

  • Known medical conditions and medications

  • Ability to meet the individual’s care needs safely

  4. Immediate Placement

Resident is admitted and provided care without delay. Required admission documentation is completed as soon as reasonably possible following placement.

6. Emergency Medical Disclaimer

Emergency admission to White and Green Group Assisted Living Facility does not replace emergency medical care.

  • For life-threatening emergencies, families, staff, and responsible parties are instructed to call 911 immediately.

  • The facility coordinates with emergency medical services as needed and follows all emergency response protocols.

7. Regulatory Compliance Statement

This policy is developed in accordance with:

Texas Administrative Code (TAC) §553.41 – Staffing and supervision

  • TAC §553.42 – Resident assessment and service planning

  • TAC §553.43 – Admission policies

  • TAC §553.74 – Emergency preparedness and response

  • TAC §553.86 – Type B facility requirements

All staff are trained on this policy during orientation and annually thereafter.
